So, in my graphic communication class were working with brand design. My teacher went into a deep discussion and had some points that would help in creating a logo. He said the logo must fit the product, it needs to stand out and be known once spotted; that the logo also should be simple so that when altering (such as scale) it will still be recognizable, and having the type and image being unified. Even though I am not working with my brand for the project I definitely took what he said into mind with the logo development of my brand. Saying that, I begined with simplifying the logo. I decided to make the face a frontal view instead of the side view, hand drawn type, and I reduced the color and details. I like where this is going. I think I might work with this look more. Seeing the numerous business cards/logo ideas for my shop, I think I might turn it into a brand development book and include it with my portfolio.
