On My Way

Well, it seems that I am heading to New York for the Fall 2008 school year. I am going to be a transfer sophomore graphic design major at an art school in NYC. I am pretty excited, but at the same time, I am nervous as hell. I have not been to NYC before, better yet, i have only been out of Texas once and that was when I was in the second grade. So, this will definitely be a major change for me. I have been wanting to go to the school since junior year of high school. I never visited the school, I had to find out information by talking to the reps and looking at photos from their site. By talking to the reps and seeing photos, it was sure that this was the design school that I would want to attend. Plus, they gave me a huge financial aid package as well as scholarship. So, I am pretty excited!
My parents are still questioning why I want to go across country to one of the major cities in the U.S., not knowing anyone. They want me to stay in Texas, better yet stay in Houston. I simply tell them, "I have to go and see the world". I know that sounds cheesy, but its true. I have only seen a small percentage of whats out there, I need to explore and discover more and I find that being in a fast paced city like New York will help me.
