Time to put up that brick wall....again

I'm just not the one to share my situations (and there is a lot), I'm the one who is there to listen, comfort, and helps people with their situations. Being on the opposite side feels funny to me...I'm a pro at keeping stuff to myself...I rather stick to the routine.

I decided to do another collage.... :)

A few Collages

My mind needed to relax, so I did some collages. Combined both photographs (which was taken from an old opera book) and illustration.

So what have I been up to lately....

I really haven't been writing much about whats been going on in my life, Ive just been posting projects that I am currently working on. How am I doing, you may ask? Great! I should say. Been producing good work (at least I think it is good), finally got a job working at school (best part that its right in my dorm), and have been racking in sales (this week has been a slump). Next week is Spring Break which means that I have to get into portfolio mode. I will be dedicating most of my time to my portfolio, spending all my time in the computer lab (cause i dont have the programs)...ahhh...i can imagine it now! LOL!

My birthday is this Sunday, YAY 21!!! And I am planning to go see Alice in Wonderland and then dinner with friends. I'm not the one to go to the extremes with 21st birthdays, unlike some people I know. I just want to do something simple and share it with close friends.

I am also currently looking at internships. I found one that is with Martha Stewart Living in their crafts department. I applied to them for the spring, but they told me that the position has already been filled and they are considering me for the summer. I am also looking at Bon Appettite, Juicy Couture (if they have internships in their graphic design dept.), Betsy Johnson, and Jonathan Adler. These companies are very unique and fun, and I think fits perfectly with my style and what I do.

I am also applying to be a summer RA so that I can spend the summer in New York. I love Houston, but I can do so much more, and get so much done in New York. I absolutely did nothing last summer in Houston, but stayed at home (cause there is only one car in our family, nothing to do in Houston, and most of my friends were interning out of state or not even in the country). I dont want to have another wasteful summer. I hope I get the position because I think it will be a very interesting experience having the position of being an RA as well as experiencing New York in the summer.

What am I going to do in the future? Well, heres a small list of things I want to do this summer:
*graphic design #1*
*Take a fashion construction course*
*design more items*
*promote my products by participating in festivals/fairs*
*find an apartment (and more roomates) so I can finally get out of this dorm*
*go to more galleries (im slipping with the gallery hopping, been so busy with school and such)*
*annoy my parents about coming up here (i know my mom wants to come, but I have to hound my dad about coming...He has never been out of the state of Texas...well except Louisiana, but that doesn't count)*
*hang with friends, luckily most of them either live in NY or is planning to stay up here for the summer*

:)
